Miggiano is a little municipality in the province of Lecce in the Apulia region, southern Italy, province of Lecce; Miggiano belongs to Salento's area and it's located at few chilometers from the Adriatic sea. The nearly municipalities are Montesano Salentino, Ruffano, Specchia and Tricase.
The cript with Byzanthine relics and iscriptions written in Greek is considered as the place of the settlement of the Basilian Monks. In the XVI century on an old structure the chapel of Saint Marina was erected near the graveyard.
The Bishop's Palace dates back to the Renassaince and was renwed as from XVI century. The Palace Vernaleone is of the same period. The Mother CHurch was built in 1561 and was renewed beginning from XVI century.
The chapels of the Madonna del Carmine and of Saint Giuseppe are Baroque.
