Otranto - Lecce

Otranto is a municipality in the province of Lecce, Apulia region, located in a suggestive bay on the coast of the Adriatic sea; Otranto has an agricultural economy, but even on commerce in the latest years, hotels, bed and breakfast and restaurants.
The town of Otranto is about 40 km away from Lecce and can be reached from many roads and its one of the most beautiful touristic place of Salento area.

Town of very old origins is situated in a bay of the Adriatic coast, most oriental point of Italy. Wanted since the ancient times now it is an important touristic place.

Inside it it has kept an agricultural economy but even a great landscape and natural value of its territory to which beach complexes are added (10), many holidays villages ('Valtur', 'Club Med') and other villages (a serra degli Alimini), campings (Frassanito area) and a good number of hotels integrated with cultural and othe entertainments.

Otranto can be reached by the statal road num. 16 and other internal provincial roads.
The railways FF.SS, stops in Lecce. From here it is possible to take the trains Sud-Est Lecce-Gagliano, or buses of the Azienda Sud-Est o Autolinea Lecce-Otranto.
The town has a beautiful harbour with an association caled Circolo Nautico.
