The town, laid down on a plain on the slopes of Serra of Pozzomauro, is bound by Acquarica Del Capo, Salve, Alessano and Spcchia Preti. The original core, built after the destruction of the territory of Pozzomauro, gathered the town district Pozzell, Crudili, Sereni and Martini around the castle and the Mother Church, later it enlarged along via Arditi and Via Gramsci.
The road corresponds to the old road linking Presicce to Salve and Acquarica. The town is characterized by courtyard-houses with some mansions and near the two squares numerous underground 'trappeti'.
Services.
Transport uses a large road network:the state road N. 101 Salentina of Gallipoli and the road N. 274 Salentina of Patù. The railway 'Sud-Est ' with the railway Lecce-Gagliano. The bus station 'Sud-Est' with bus line Lecce-Alessano and the 'Azienda STP di Terra d'Otranto' with the bus line Lecce-Ugento.
