Uggiano la Chiesa is a little municipality in the south of Italy, located in the Salento area in the province of Lecce and in the Apulia region. Born as Castle of Otranto during the greek colonization, the town of Uggiano la Chiesa is situated on the borders of Otranto, few kilometres away from Porto Badisco.
It has got an agricultural economy with different stock- farming to which small farms of artisan level are added: mills, bakeries, cheese factories, oil-mills, clothes factories and building associations which organizes the commercial activity with specialized shops for thecommerce of particular products.
