San Cassiano is a small town of about 2000 inhabitants and municipality in the province of Lecce, in Apulia region, situated in the wonderful area of Salento. It borders with Botrugno, Nociglia, Poggiardo and Supersano.
The terrain, nearly all flat, is dominated by the karst phenomena. It has a sandy, clayey and tufaceous base and a rich underground river network.
Agriculture is the base of its economy; in particular the production of tabacco and olives. In recent years handicrafts have also developed and tinnery industry.
