The town of Porto Cesareo is located in the Apulia region, in province of Lecce an in the area of Salento; Porto Cesareo is on the ionian coast and it is an ancient village of fishermen, today well-known as tourist locality for its crystalline sea and the historical cultural resources.
Analytic text The territory of Porto Cesareo extends, like a small peninsula on about 17 Km of coast washed by the Ionian Sea, limpid and crystalline sea which gives it a tropical charm. This old village of fishermen, became a bathing locality and cultural centre, seen the artistic historical sources (Saracen towers, Mycenae ceramics, fortified farmhouses).
The natural environment, quite well preserved, draws about 90.000 tourists every year: many frogmen, bathers and people fond of sea, defined an exotic and charming sea, a sort of happy Paradise under the hot sun of Puglia. It borders on artistic historical towns such as Narḍ, Leverano, Veglie, San Pancrazio, Avetrana.
