Erice is a italian historic town located in in the province of Trapani in the beautiful Sicily island in the south of Italy. Located on the omonimus Mount Erice, Erice offers a fantastic panoramas and a overlooking of the city of Trapani, the low western coast towards Marsala where we can find the famous touristic areas of Punta del Saraceno, Capo san Vito and the Aegadian Islands.
The first inhabitants of Erice, at the times of Iruka, were the Elymi.
Some historians identified the Elymi with the Sicani, others believe that they came from the Ligurian coasts, and some others from Anatolia after the destruction of the city of Troy. Soon afterwards Erice was conquered by the Cathaginians and with the battle of the Egadi Islands it was occupied by the Romans. After a period of decay it was rebuilt with the name Monte S.Giuliano.
Between the main events in Erice the Settimana di musica Medioevale e Rinascimentale (July), the Festa patronale della Madonna di Custonaci (August) and the Zampagna d’Oro (December).

The B & B (2 stars) is located in the Holy House, a residential area at the foot of Erice, in a five-story building with elevator.
A short walk from the cable car to Erice, 200 mt are the beaches equipped, near the palace is being built a large public garden, and the area takes place Monday in the local market on Wednesdays and to the famous farmer's market near the bus stops to the old town of Trapani, in short is no fun.
