Fattoria Castiglinchio The Wine estate
Castiglionchio or Castellonchio, as the name itself suggests, is an ancient 12 century fortified settlement immersed in acres of vineyards, situated only 15 km from Florence in the valley of “Mulino delle Rivolte” Rich in history with many illustrious owners. Once the ancestral patrimony of the noble Florentine family Ricasoli Zanchini and from this small castle the famous jurist Lapo da Castiglionchio, Lord of Quona and Volognano took his name.
Castiglionchio today: The main house, tower, church and two castle doors are still standing and today carefully renovated self-catering apartments and rooms on breakfast basis can be found in the villa and surrounding farmhouses. Facilities include two swimming pools, tennis court, meeting/TV room , Internet Point, horse riding, mountain bikes and restaurant offering Tuscan specialities.

Every week we organise guided visits around the wine estate, the cellars and a museum exhibiting antique farm implements accompanied by tasting of our wines and local products. Folklore evenings with dinner.

How to reach us:
Fattoria Di Castiglionchio

Exit autostrada A1 ( Milano/ Roma) at FIRENZE SUD.
After the pay toll take exit BAGNO A RIPOLI / PONTASSIEVE
At the end of the slip road turn right and keep on this road for 11km.
Just before the bridge turn right for ROSANO
Go straight through the village of Rosano after 500m take a right turn for CASTIGLIONCHIO.
Continue on this road for 3km and you will arrive at the FATTORIA DI CASTIGLIONCHIO.

The Apartments
The renovated apartments, simply furnished in Tuscan farmhouse style are situated in the main building or in restored farm buildings located in the olive groves and vineyards.
All have independent entrances and kitchen facilities and many an open fire place.
