The Alcantara river has about 40 km of green banks and is one of the most important rivers in Sicily, situated between Catania and Messina, close to the Etna Park and the Nebrodi Park.

Placed in an area full of castles and typical tastes, rich of striking lavic gorges and extremely interesting vegetation, the Alcantara park can be easily visited, thanks to the main road 185 and an effective road network.
"Al Quantarah", the bridge in Arabic: this toponym suggests us that traces of history run among the shores of this river.
