LOCATION.
The national park of the Sila is in Calabria, in the forests of the Sila Great (province of Cosenza), of the Small Sila (province of Catanzaro), and of the Aspromonte (province of Reggio Calabria).
GENERAL INFORMATIONS.
The national park of the Sila has been instituted in 1968 and has an extension of approximately 17000 hectares.
ATMOSPHERE.
The national park of the Sila comprises goes plateaus to you, covered of great forests of conifers and latifoglie, mounts with height until 1400 meters.
VEGETATION.
The main tree that we find in the national park of the Sila is the larico pine; present also the white firs, the faggi, the cerri, the chestnut trees. Signaling the exemplary presence of pine and maple tree (you notice like "the giants of the Sila") high approximately 40 meters and with diameter until 2 meters.
ANIMALS.
In the park nazionele of the Sila they are present much species of animals. Between the much species present we unfortunately remember the lupo Appennine (in via of extinction), the capriolo, I beat black, the goshawk, the Aquila of Bonelli.
Single or comitive visitors are welcome during all the year.
