LOCATION.
The national park of the Stelvio is situated in the Alps Centers them, between the region Lombardy and the Trentino-Alto-Adige region (provinces of Trento and Bolzano) and comprises the Valtellina, the Valcamonica, the Val Venosta and the Val di Sole.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS.
The national park of the Stelvio has been instituted in 1935 and it extends for approximately 137000 hectares.
ATMOSPHERE.
A typical atmosphere of the high mountain with mounts of beyond 4000 meters is breathed; present also forests and praterie. They are present large extended of cliffs and of winter they are present tens of ghiacciai (largest is the ghiacciaio of the Furnace).
VEGETATION.
In the national park of the Stelvio they are present forests mostly to conifers, with larice, red and silvestre fir. Lot of species of flowers between which we can remember: the linnea, the alpine camedrio, the camozzera grass.
ANIMALS.
In the national park of the Stelvio they are present exemplary of Aquila Reale, of bear of the Alps, ermellino, rooster cedrone, pellet white woman. The species more diffuse is the red deer and the capriolo but to the inside of the park they are present approximately 1000 species various.
HOW TO REACH STELVIO NATIONAL PARK.
- From the Milan-Venice freeway through Edolo-they pull-Bormio
- From the Trento-Bolzano freeway through Mezzolombardo-Cles-Male '; from Bolzano for Merano-Silandro.
Single or comitive visitors are welcome during all the year.
