The royal palaces and residences of the Savoy Family, in the city and in the country, make up a substantial part of the wealth of architecture that characterizes Turin and Piedmont.
Regione Piemonte has committed itself to enhancing these palaces and has invested in a project that will restore and organize the Savoy sightseeing itinerary.
It will be of great historical and artistic interest and traverse the region from Palazzo Reale to Palazzo Madama, from the Mandria estate to the Castello of Moncalieri; then from the Castelli of Racconigi and Agliè to the Archivio di Stato and finally to the Museo Egizio and Museo di Antichità.
During the two-year period of 1998-99 the works to restore the architecture and art collections will continue toward creating a sightseeing itinerary which will have to be coordinated and promoted by a management body with regional funding and other public and private resources allocated for this purpose.
